    Bill -

Original-type organic pads work fine, especially with manual brakes. The later semi-metallic and hot-dog "race" pads require a LOT more pedal pressure, and they'll also eat your rotors. With OEM-type organic pads, rotors will live over 100K miles.

The master cylinder for 1972 with non-power brakes has a 1" bore. The master cylinder for 1972 with PB has a 1-1/8" bore.

As far as the outlet size, as recall 3/8" tubing is used. I don't recall the thread size of the tubing nuts. However, if you have a '509' master cylinder (manual brakes) or a '346' master cylinder (power brakes), I can't see that the outlet sizes could be wrong. If you have an aftermarket master cylinder that's the correct catalog number for the car, the fittings should be right, too.

There should be NO check valves in the master cylinder outlet ports. 65-82 Corvettes did not use them.
