    Keith and Tony,

    There is another issue that needs to be addressed here. There should be a small copper wire connecting the two steel halves of the rag joint, electrically connecting them. Should this electrical connection fail the horn will not work or could be intermittant as it provides the ground path to complete the horn relay circuit.

        Mark. You're right. Mine was intact with my original rag joint. I lightly cleaned the copper. I assumed that it is some sort of ground. If I remember right, the base is fastened to one of the rivets and the other end is fastened by one of the bolts.

        Thanks for bringing that up Mark. I had forgotten about that.

          I'm reasonably sure this applies for all 63-67 cars. I'm not familiar with anything newer than '65 though.
