Re: 67 hose clamps for PCV hose and fuel hose

    Hi Jerry:

Thanks. The PCV clamps in your photo appear to be exactly like the photo I posted. Do you agree? My tentative conclusion is that the PCV clamp in the photo I posted is correct for 1967, although other versions may also be correct.

Since you are uncertain about your fuel hose clamps, I'm still left with the question of what the fuel hose clamps should look like for 1967. Hopefully someone on this board can post a photo of a known-original 67 fuel hose clamp.

Re: spring clamps with squared ears

I suppose any combination of possibilities could have affected the stamp quality. The next batch could have been the opposite.

67 hose clamps for fuel hose-found them

        Joe,

I knew I saved them when I changed the fuel pump with a line to pump hose kit.
Found them in the bottom of my shoe box full of fuel equipment.

The picture shows the comparison between a repro and 2 67 fuel hose clamps (guaranteed original) removed with my original 40433 fuel pump.

But the backs are so rusty, I can't make out any markings.

They are now bagged and tagged.

Re: 67 hose clamps for fuel hose-found them

          Hi Jerry:

Thanks for digging those out. They look like some others I have seen that were described as "correct." Your photo confirms that the fuel line clamps are not just a reduced-size version of the PCV hose clamps. All three ears are square, and the two outer ones are not quite as elongated as the ones on the PCV clamps.

Jorjorian, Why don't you make a nice NY's resolution and admit you don't know bout clamps and just want Mikey to post some pics so you learn. My 63 has all the correct clamps on it. Got them from a swamp guy near O'Town. Happy New Year, John

              JD,
you're right I dont know much on corbin clamps but I do know you never bought your corbin clamps from the swamp guy.
Michael clued me in 30 years ago that the length of the legs became shorter in the 60s and ALL repo and service clamps since then are the shorter design.
Swamp guys can not help you in getting those long leg corbin clamps, which I'm 99.9% sure your whitey car is missing.RJ

Re: Corbin clamp variations by John DeGregory

I agree, the original spring ring clamps for 63 are definitely different than those used in later production. In fact, the same clamp was likely used in 62, or possibly all C1 cars that used this style clamp. The difference was the length of the ears, as you mention. The 63 and earlier clamp ears were noticeably longer than 64 and all current reproduction clamps.

I don't think I have any original 63 clamps here to photograph but if you have one that you can send, I can post a pic of an original 63 and the later short design.

I believe this may be an untampered fuel tank line clamp, circa mid '67 installation.

Nick - Happy NY. What is the configuration of the end of the center tang, squared or rounded? Pete

Pete, Happy New Year to you, and to all members... Looks like the shadow detail got lost when I resized the photo. The end of the center tang on the fuel line is square and the same lenghth as the outside tangs. The pcv clamp center tang is rounded.

                            Hi Nick:

Thanks for the photos. I think I now understand what both the PCV clamp and the fuel hose clamp should look like for 1967.
