            Re: Drivers

Roy, I drive either the 59 or 62 every weekend to run errands. Neither car has been judged, but I figure someday I'll do a frame-off on both. Until then, it's pedal to the met...., err, fiberglass!!!! Mileage? I don't care bout no stinkin' mileage!!!!

It's nice to see your pic. To me it don't matter weather some one has a trailer queen , driver or basket case , just nice looking at what people have! Wish we had a place near our sign in posting showing our Corvette, to put a face on the corvette we have /

For "drive anywhere and everywhere", insurance?

For all of you going on about driving them anywhere, everywhere, and all the time, you have to be racking up more than the 2500 or 5000 miles per year and they can't all be club activities, parades, and so on.

What are you doing for insurance? Or are you just avoiding the issue?

Usage. Hagerty provides coverage for vehicles that are used on an occasional basis -- e.g. club functions, exhibitions, organized meets, tours and limited pleasure driving.

Driven on a limited, pleasure-only basis (up to 5,000 annual miles - available in most states)

Do you qualify for classic car insurance? Review vehicle and driver requirements to determine if you’re eligible for collector car coverage.

Be used primarily as hobby vehicles: used in exhibitions, club activities,
parades, or other functions of public interest. An occasional nice day drive to
keep the vehicle in running order is perfectly acceptable.

Grundy's website doesn't address any except to say they have no mileage limits. I'd be intereset in hearing what the policies say from those having Grundy.

Granted, I'd argue that any drive in a Corvette is a "pleasure drive", however, I think that isn't the intent of the policy.

                    Re: Drivers

Try to drive it as much as possible which isn't enough. I've put on approx. 15,000 miles in 10 years. I have other cars that need exercising too but always look forward to being able to take the old girl for a spin.

Re: For "drive anywhere and everywhere", insurance

Mileage don't matter if your going to a car meet , taking it to have service, if you did have a problem you could say you were taking it to be worked on. When we went across country in our 55 years ago we told our insurance we were going to Corvette events in different states and they said OK .

                        Triple A for 36 years

with unlimited mileage. Got plenty of docs on the car and condition. What's a Top Flight 67 S/B worth to replace?

Re: Triple A for 36 years

Just make sure you have it on an "Agreed Value" policy.

Else you'll get about $8500 to replace that 1967 Chevrolet - no matter how many documents and assessments you have on it. Don't ask how I know.

Even driving my 1970 Cutlass quite a bit, I've never put over 2000 miles on it. Hagerty knows how much I drive it, and they're OK with it.

Sooner or later I'll be running the wheels off it. I just hope I don't have to convert it to an auto by the time I gitter done

Hi Chuck, Some day when my 63 get a Duntov (cam) I will also be driving the wheels off it. Then I will put some nice fake knockoffs on like it had before and go crusin. The midyears are fun to drive. More fun than my 84 Z51 will rides like a coal truck that's empty. Take care, John
