    Re: Drivers

I drive my '62 only on weekends - if I can't drive with the top down - why bother! In So. Cal. there are many Sat & Sun's that allow for this. Then again I also have to exercise the '65 pony (HIPO Mustang).

      Re: Drivers

It feels good to know I'm not the only one in NCRS that drives the Corvette,I think many people think NCRS people dont drive them , I'm proof that a driver with 114000 miles even with accessories can get a top flight. ( too many newbee's don't think it can be done) It's not that hard in NCRS to do if you keep it nice. I was amazied my self in 05. I also look at the "Corvette forum" and they also have great guys there. I like when they post there pic's.
How about you same guys posting your pic.of your Corvette you drive, NCRS awards or not. I dont think it's even been done stateing this is a Corvette I simply enjoy and DRIVE .
My people have seen mine so here it is again.

        Re: Drivers

I drive my 59 a lot. One owner from 1959 until 2004. The owner (a gal) drove the heck out of it. The 59 now has 238K miles on it, and I am adding about 3500 to 4000 a year. I drive it year round - for the winter I put the hard top on it.

I don't plan on taking it thru NCRS for a long time however. I will wait until the engine dies or the car needs to be repainted. Will do a frame on restoration at that time, and make the car right.

Here is a pic of the car and original owner in 1962:

You need a off sight provider , I use filmloop it's free , I use it to send to people over seas I correspond with to show original , accessories and NOS parts and other crazy things I like or added. This is all 55 Corvette stuff.

                          Re: Drivers

Dale, if what you are packing is a genuine Corvette accessory, Roy may be interested in getting one or several...perhaps one in each caliber offered.

Roy, I drive my '64 a quite a bit. Twice to CO, once to UT via Tulsa and Independence, MO (not the most direct route from Houston!) and plan to drive it to Bahston next summer. I also participate in a lot of Texas Chapter and AACA road tours. It's seen snow, rain and heat...the works.

                          Best regards,
                          Charlie

My daughter owes a gun shop and her husband is a Ca. CHP . I have that accessory , it was the first thing I added to the 55 Corvette.

Las Vegas in the spring, Rick?

Here's my driver first time at judging (9/05) 2nd Flight:

Drive it every weekend, 1428 miles (back and forth) to Flagstaff last April.
Ran like a champ (17 mpg at 65mph (avg)) and Top Flighted.

Hoping to go for a Founders check in Las Vegas in April 2007. (a mere 1000 miles back and forth).

                              See you there?
