    73 rear spring

I bought the assembly manual. All the numbers are a bit confusing, I could not figure out what the correct leaf spring for 1973 corvette small block should be. Thanks for the help.

    Mladen,

Not sure if HD suspension was available in '73, but if it were, it would have 7 leafs (leaves), standard suspension has 9.

    Hope this helps

9 leaf spring is on there now, and needs to be replaced. I think they had HD springs in 73, but would that be correct. Does anyone know of a good source for correct springs. Paragon has only aftermaket springs.

'73 rear spring; repro and used originals

        Mladen,

While there is no repro spring that is 100% cosmetically correct, Eaton Detroit Spring makes a decent spring that many people report being happy with. If you want 100% correct cosmetics, you'll need to buy a used spring. Try Crane's Corvettes or America's Finest Corvettes in California or Pacific Corvette in Washington state. I don't have contact info handy, but google them for details. Any of those places should be able to sell you an original 7-leaf or an original 9-leaf that should be correct for your '73. You need to know which one to get though.

The only way that you got a HD rear spring (i.e. 7 leaf) for 1973 is if the car was equipped with the Z-07 performance package. Only 45 cars were so-equipped.
