clutch linkage question

I am assembling my `69 and am wondering which is the correct way for the rod that attaches between the z-bar and the fork to attach at the z-bar?? funny bent clip in (towards the motor) or out towards the frame...

It should show the correct orientation of the rod in UPC 7 in your Assembly Manual.

Rod end should point toward the engine for both rods on the "Z" bar
