-------Didnt you see the #3 car in Chicago at the NCRS meet (about 1980) along with Stretch, Cookie-Monster and the rest of us??? I cant remember why but we determined that day that the car was originally a black/saddle leather fuel car. The owner told us that day that the car was pulled and sent back to the Tech center where it had the 427 installed. He didnt know when the car had the color change and interior re-dye to a sort of turquoise, but assumed it was also done very early in its life to present to higher-ups for acceptance. Werner Meier has known the car and owner for a long, long time as they were both GM employees...........Bill SComment

I'm probably wrong but I thought I remembered seeing the 00003 at the Flint, Mi meet in about 1980, when I showed the "wacky Z06". I don't remember the original colors on the 65 but I think I have a pic of the VIN/trim tags here somewhere. I'll try to find/post the pic. Very interesting car.Comment
