57 soft top frame

i have a 57 with soft top and I know the frame needs some repair, so can I
ship it somewhere and have the old top taken off and just have the frame repaired I can have the new soft top installed local I want the frame correct before I install the new top any ideas or suggestions

it would be difficult to repair the side rails(which are usually bent) without having the car present. its not that difficult a job. seems to me that it took a weekend to remove, disassemble, straighten bent pieces, glassbead, re-bush, paint and adjust the top to the car(windshield and door glass up). good luck, mike

its that there may be parts that are missing or just beond me abilities, just wanted to find a firm that could take frame and make it correct seems a firm would have a jig to place frame on just for the purpose of making frame correct

paul: if your 57 is pre about vin 4000 (doesn't have the metal reinforcements behind the kick panel), the dash may have drooped a bit whcih will tilt the windshield backwards at its top. if that's the case, a soft top bow assembly restored using a jig may or may not fit your car.good luck with coffman. they have a good reputation. mike
