For restoration, what type of sealant is used on the heater box after the heater box is mounted on the firewall? The 65 judging manual says a "spray on heavy rubber-like sealant is seen along the top and sides. This is a leaker fix for the heater box". Thanks, Floyd

Re: Heater Box Sealant on Firewall
Floyd, I just replaced the heater core in my 66 and I was discussing this on another post here. The author of that post, Carl, said that he had used rustproofing spray. I would guess that spraying some into a container, then dripping/painting it onto the subject surface would give an appropriate appearance. I haven't done this part yet, although the core is in, the car is back together and it runs well. Gary- Top

Re: Heater Box Sealant on Firewall
Gary, Thanks for your reply, I will try to find some rust proofing spray???? and give it a try. I will let you know how it looks. Glad to hear you got your 66 running, one of these "years" I hope to have mine on the road again after this total frame off restoration. Thanks again, Floyd- Top
