1965 396 Fan Shroud GM Part Number...Joe???

Is the correct GM part number for a 1965 396/425 fan shroud GM #3938940?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Two pieces James, 3872995 and 996. 3938940 was '68 427.

The numbers are as Bill described. Some references may indicate that the 3938940 shroud will SERVICE the 1965 L-78 application. It won't, though. As Bill mentioned, the 3938940 is a 1968 issued shroud. It is SERVICE-only for 1968 with copper/brass radiators (some small block and all big block except L-88) since the actual PRODUCTION shroud was made up from several individual pieces (which, together, make up the 3938940 SERVICE shroud). The 3938940 is also SERVICE for 1966-67 big block applications. However, it won't work for 1965 L-78 applications. That's because 1965 L-78 used a different radiator than that designed for use with the 3938940 shroud.
