Regardless of whether the white car is original, or not, it's better documented than any other car out there (except for the yellow one, of course). So, when someone comes up with another ZL-1 car WITH PROOF-POSITIVE DOCUMENTATION, then, perhaps, it will be time to more thoroughly question the authenticity of the white car. Or, perhaps it will be time to question GM's records that only 2 were built. However, so far no one's come up with any other PROOF-POSITIVE, DOCUMENTED car. Therefore, it's all "Elvis is alive" stuff. Period.

If you look at the Corvette Order Copy for the Daytona yellow ZL-1, it states on there 970 8 cylinder conditioning. The Classic white ZL-1 does not have this.

No one has mentioned the orange car.

The one that was in a few magainzes a few years ago claiming to be a ZL-1 also.

Tonawanda built 90 ZL-1 engines in 1969 - (55) 4-speeds and (35) automatics. Norwood (Camaro) built 69 COPO 9561 ZL-1 cars - (47) 4-speeds and (22) automatics. This left 8 4 speed suffix engines and 13 automatics. Does not leave a lot of engines if you figure that quite a few went out over the counter. The only thing that still has me puzzled is the 13 automatic engines. St. Louis stated that they did not build any ZL-1 automatics. Why did Tonawanda assemble all the extra automatic suffix engines?

              percentages

It all comes out to about 1/3 automatics - I guess they anticipated they would need that number.
