C-1 Changing Tail light Lens

Hi all! I have a new rear tail light lens and I'm trying to replace just
lens on my '54. I have the tail light housing out but I am unsure how to
separate the lens from the housing. Has anyone ever changed out a tail light
lens on a 53-55? What's the secret to removing the lens and bezel from the
bulb housing? Thanks in advance for any help you may offer.

You need to brake the lens to get it out ,then glue the new one in.

Roy's right - break the old one - silicone the new in - make sure you orient the light correctly.

I still have the accessory 78 Silver Anniversary lugage when I got my new one in 78, but the vett is long gone.

Still got your 27 year old luggage!You're worse them at getting rid on old stuff

Roy may be you need to get away more and use that luggage or are you just holding on to them for sentimental reason?

Thanks again for the tip on replacing the lens. I broke out the old one which still had the rubber gasket in the base of the lens. I tried to reuse the gasket but the repo lens won't fit with in the housing, so I used some clear silicone sealer.

We' v used the lugged for years and still do, I thought 78 owners would be interested in buying them for their vett , but NO .Accessories if your in to the NCRS mind set is a big bad thing never to be discussed.
