    More dependable?

Then you're taking a step backwards. Read the testimonials below and add my name to list of PO'd ex-customers.

I'd rather spend 10 minutes once a year adjusting the dwell in the comfort of my own garage than an hour or two re-installing the points on the side of the road somewhere.

For those that insist that they saw some performance improvement, this simply indicates that it was time to repair/overhaul the distributor anyway.

I do Patrick- thought I had told you about it at Big *ucks in Dallas. Very sad tale, best keep a box of Kleenex handy.

        THANKS FOR ALL THE REPLIES.....

        Mike,

These are exactly the kind of opinions I'm looking for. Think I'll leave things as they are for now. Thanks...

A very reliable alternative is to use a MSD box leaving your points to trigger the box. Use their coil and you will be pleasantly surprised at the difference in the way your car runs. I have one box that has been on a driver for almost 15 years with one points change. The points do not carry as much current with the MSD setup as they do with a conventional ignition
