    basically the same except for the size of the stamped "X" on lid. see judging manuals for the two sizes. mike

        The 62 air cleaner is different. Aside from the smaller "X", the filter element is entirely different. I think the two assemblies (58-61,62) would interchange, but don't believe parts of one type would interchange with parts of the other.

          The 62 air cleaner is different. Aside from the smaller "X", the filter element is entirely different. I think the two assemblies (58-61,62) would interchange, but don't believe parts of one type would interchange with parts of the other.

            I would describe...

            ...the base asy as being the same from 58 - 62. During '62, the cover changed to the smaller X. The changeover is described in the JM - somewhere in the 5K range if I remember correctly. The 58 - 61 filter element was a paper item - I would imagine the switch to the foam element on a screen may have mirrored the small x, big X change.

                Changeover to small x in 62 ENDED in the early 5000 range--began as early as 600, and probably even earlier than that.
