'66 BB INNER FENDER MOUNTING HOLES

Did original inner fenders on big blocks have any of the holes drilled out for small block applications,(overflow tank, etc.) or were they just indented to show their position?

      Rob,

The holes in my 66 were drilled but the factory undercoating from the back side makes two of them look indented, not drilled. The other two have factory undercoating oozing out on the back side.

The holes in the RH inner fender for the expansion tank bracket rivets were pre-drilled 100% in all panels by the supplier, and those holes were filled with bond material on BB cars.

My 66 big block, a correct car, has four holes drilled in right fender for small block expansion tank. I've wondered what they were for many times. Sounds like all 66's came with them.

Yes, john is correct. I looked at the 66 again and the goonk that's ozing out from two of the four holes is definitely bond, not undercoat. If I look at that area from the wheel side, I can see where bond was spread in the area of the holes and then covered with factory undercoat.
