    Bill, They are definitely moulded edges on the notches. Sometimes there will be a little flashing. If the assembly line worker was to cut the notch it would most likely have been outlined in the assembly manual. It is also common on AOS as well as St. Louis bodies. I also think that it either had something to do with body drop, or clearance for the lower tank area of the SB radiator, but the notch is also found on BB cars as well.

        Thx John, that helps....sounds like the $4 a month plan. Much appreciated! My Comcast has picture storage and hosting, but it appears you need a password to access, not a good deal for picture hosting. I think I can store and email fine, but not hyperlink. Thx!....Craig

            The way the panel lines up with the radiator on mine, it isn't close to hitting anything.

            Looking at John's pictures, his is also well in front of the radiator.

            I don't have the horn on mine, but I don't think it would hit either.
