re mid year heater hose question joe lucia gary my recollection is that the hose goes to the fitting on the intake manifold and the to the fitting on the water pump actually it is not too difficult to confirm this as the nipples on the fittings are of different size to accomodate the different size hoses this is also true of the nipples on the heater core itself the expansion tank lower nipples are just one size since the same size hose goes in and out and if i recall correctly this is the

re mid year heater hose question carl rose hi mr schisler mr lucia is correct the two hoses are different sizes and the small goes to the intake manifold what year is your car some more heater trivia for you from my experience depending on who you read the cars had only one heater hose stamped with the gm marking 'can't remember if it is the hose that is unmarked there is also longitudinal ribbing in apparently at least five different configurations originally heater hose t is unpainted cad plated both heater hose fitings are also cad plated not painted with pump intake teflon tape is no no the hoses are held together by two black plated c like clamps probably it is inconsequential but the adams book has a picture of a car to determine which direction they should face the heater core itself is brass with a silver aluminum like paint over the outlet spouts the engine compartment box cover is unpainted and on some cars there is sealer along the upper and medial sides applied to fix leaks did you ask about all this good luck carl
