    '54 drag Link

The Corvette Servicing Guide specifies that longer rod of the drag link assembly goes rearward at the gear end and the shorter rod goes forward to the 3rd arm end which is the way I installed it. But I just looked at my pre-disassembly photos and it clearly shows it installed just the opposite. It looks like it probably had not been previously changed by the equal amount of grime as on other suspension and steering components. Does anybody have any idea which way is correct or if it matters? Thanks.

The longer end goes rearward , adjust the screw end caps to remove play and one haft more for adjustment. Be sure you have the right third arm support for year vett , they is two different designs

Thanks for the input Mike. I can't be 100% sure that it has never been apart since I haven't had it since new, but it sure appeared that way.

Thanks for the input Roy. That's the way the manual shows it. I guess it was installed wrong all these years. What is the difference in the third arm support that you mentioned?

Thanks for the photos Roy. The rear boss on mine is one inch thick and the front boss is 1/2 inch thick. Does that make it an early or late? I can't scale the photos to tell. Thanks.
