GM says that only one shifter assembly was used for 1963s with 4 speed, regardless of whether T-10 or Muncie-equipped. That shifter assembly was GM #3824815 and it was a unique-to-1963 piece.

I believe that the 1-2 and 3-4 shifter rods were the same for both transmissions, too. However, the reverse rod and all three shifter levers were specific to T-10 or Muncie.

You are absolutely correct as Jerry and I have posted above that the shifter for a 63 is the same for a T-10 or a Muncie. It was changed in 63 because of the crossmember.

Also, the 421 bellhousing was used for both T-10 and Muncie transmissions. The 63 Muncie had an aluminum 3 speed bearing retainer. The bellhousing did not change until 64.

I've owned both T-10 (10,365) and Muncie (14,451) 63's with the 421 bellhousing on both.
