Which end is up

I recently installed ACC carpet and backing in my 67 coupe. I installed the padding with the black rubberized (?) side up as I thought the original was. The carpet under the glass "bubbled". When I raised it to stretch it I discovered the black "rubberized" side of the pad had wrinkled. I called ACC and was informed the "rubberized" side goes down. Now I don't know which end is up.

John, I just checked the original carpet on my 64 coupe and the padding under the rear glass is with the rubberized side UP. Hope this helps.

Rubberized side up on a 66 vette i did a couple years ago. mike

I replaced the original carpet in my 67 coupe two years ago. The rubberized side of the padding definitely goes up.
