Re: I totally agree with Cuck

I am sure that there will be something come up that will cost more than what I am expecting. I just parked the car back in 79 when I got too involved with racing my 69 L-88 SCCA A/P vette. I always was going to get around to fixing it and getting it back on the street. I raced till late 80's and then was so in debt that I didn't do anything but work to get back on my feet. Then in 89 I bought a 5000 sf house in a exclusive part of town which was always a dream of mine. Then in 90 I fell off the roof of the dam thing and broke my leg. It was 17 mo till I could get around with out pain. So I worked to get back on my feet and some bucks ahead for a few years.

Then in 93 I got a divorce which I didn't want. It took 7 years for me to get that paid off and still keep everything but one '73 Vette that she wanted. The devisation she caused me was something else. I tried to committ sucide 3 times but got stopped and finally learned to live with out her.

I met a real Looker almost 5 years ago and she liked to ride motorcycles so I have been obsessed with Honda Valkyrie's for the last 5 years. (I have 3 at this time) Quite by accident I saw something about the SuperCar renunion at St Louis last labor day. Went to it and met Joel Rosen in person.

So now I have a newly re newed interest in getting both of my cars restored. In fact I want to get all of them done. I just have to find a better way to keep them safe while I do it. (Don't start to offer to let me put them in your garage now guys!) I am considering building about 3,000sf on the back of my house. I have the room so I will be checking it out in the near future. I am considering checking out the fourpost lifts sold in Kansas and think I will take the bike up there late this week to see one in person.

Re: I totally agree with Cuck

Hey Larry - just read your post - man have you had your ups and downs!! Glad to know that you are still around with a new gal - living proof that what seems insurmountable, in fact, as time passes, is not.

Lived on Staten Island during my early driving days and musclecars so I am well aware of Motion and their rep - in fact once drove out to their shop with my 66SS396 to discuss what they could do to make it rip. Ended up not doing anything due to money shortage but was in awe as I discussed things with them.
Never forget that they wanted to rip out my old, tired 396/360 and replace it with a worked smallblock that "will make that car dance"-still remember this phrase 25 years later. 2 of my 5 gto's had 396's in them-the 65 had an L78 and a 66 had a detuned passenger moter. L78 looked cool when hood was popped and screamed(had 5:14 rear). 66 looked cool when hood was popped and ran like a dog-was embarrassing. One of the hot things on the street and a dream of mine(which never came to pass though I have an old car magazine that has an article on this) was to drop an L88 in my 65.

Good luck with your rare, amazing Motion machine - make no mistake - their Phase III Camaros wasted anything out of Detroit except 68 Dart Hemi.
