Do the bolts that join the 2 caliper halves together use lock washers?

Re: 66 brake calipers
John------
One other little-known fact: 1965 and 1966 calipers, front and rear, originally used place type lockbolts to attach the caliper halves. These bolts can be identified by a bolt head with 6 radial grooves originating at the center of each flat and terminating at a hollow in the center of the bolt head. This design is NOT a headmarking; it is a design feature of these bolts which provides locking action.
I wonder how many "100 point" 65-66 Corvettes lack this easily discernable feature?
After 1966, with the intoduction of the 2nd design calipers, the place bolts were dropped and standard hex head, SAE grade 8 bolts were used. As John mentioned, no washers of any kind were ever used in conjunction with the bolts.
All original bolts, place type or standard hex head, were phosphate finished. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: Joe; does anyone still sell the place type bol
Gary-----
No one that I know of. GM discontinued them eons ago. This technology locking bolt is not often used anymore. The only place that I can think of that I've seen them is for certain flywheel-to-crankshaft bolt applications. Of course, these are very short bolts, so they could not be used for the brake caliper application.
I believe that the Ford Motor Company originally developed and used the place type bolt. Perhaps, they still use them for some applications. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
