I did a race car and a motorcycle. I don't know if there are any EPA or DOT specific requirements currently, though both of which would be controlled at the Federal level. I would contact Arizona to see how to obtain a Builder's Title. The State would provide the documentation and equipment requirements to satisfy their criteria for a Builder's Title.

Well the auction is over.
I never comment on active ebay auctions because I dont want to interfere with one,and then have some one try and sue me ( we live in strange times it seems whom ever has the smartest lawyers WINS has nothing to do with whats fair,Whats true,or whats honorable)Any ways I have been following this post.I live in ny and plan on aquiring a 61 or 62 vette for a tube frame convertion,And one of my maney concerns were to aquire a car with a vin on the colom and a vin on the frame.
Allthought I dont need the frame I wanted to make sure the frame and its vin did not become another car titled with the same vin in a different state. So on this car what is the vin its titled from?

When I start my project I plan on removing/altering the vin on the frame prior to reselling frame portion of the car

And dont worry you guys who think I am ruining a good car I am looking for a car with NOM So I will not be ruining a peice of history,

Same thing in Michigan - here it's called an "Assembled Vehicle", used primarily for kit cars; no emission issues - just requires a safety inspection by a County Sheriff or State Trooper.
