After having my cluster refurbished by a very reputable outfit, I went through the contortionist acts of reconnecting all the connections. No oil leaks, tach works, lights, wipers, everything but the ammeter.
I broke out my meter- 12.41 volts on both sides- .3ohms across the gauge (disconnected of course) Reconnected, yet it still did not work. After discussing w/ the gentleman that rebuilt it- he said it had tested out fine. I pulled the ammeter/fuel gauge section out of the car for a bench test. With a 12volt supply, test light and the ammeter- the gauge moves. Nothing else was done to the car electrically since the cluster was pulled a few weeks ago. I have tried it back in the car - still no movement!
Any ideas of what to look for? I'm stumped!!!
