    C2 TRAILING ARM SHIMS

I purchased some slotted trailing arm shims ( from Quanta ) for my '67, for ease of installation and alignment. I see, however, that the holes in the one end are not round as original, but rather oval. The other end, of course, is slotted. I was wondering how these will be looked at during judging, and whether points will be deducted with reference to the "oval" shaped holes as well as the slots.

Your 67 should use the "double hole" shims, not the slotted ones. Don't have a JM handy, but there would be a deduction for this type of shim. Chuck

Although this will certainly take a minor deduction the other thing to ask is how well you will be appreciated at the alignment shop with shims that are slotted versus the holes. When I talked with the alignment shop PRIOR to rebuilding the trailing arms, they did not want to do an alignment if I had the original style shims.

You could buy the standard ones and slot them yourself. I did them for a friend and put the slots in in a mill perpendicular to the long axis. I could do them for you.
