Am pulling the distributor for a rebuild/recurve. Have a generic vacuum advance on it now. One catalog sells the #360 and says it is correct for my application, while another catalog sells the #363. That catalog states that he #360 is for 68 only. Which is the correct vacuum advance for my 69 427/400 automatic? Thanks in advance. Chuck

Re: Correct Vacuum Advance for 69 427/400
For the 390-400 hp distributor, I have three non-GM references from 1969 calling for the 360 vac unit, for what it's worth. (National Automotive service manual, Motors Parts/Labor and Chiltons Parts/Labor) (926 Dist)Bill Clupper #618- Top

The chart in the Chassis Service Manual shows the 1111926 distributor using a "C-3955" vacuum advance unit, with specs of 0 advance @ 7" Hg., and 12 degrees @ 12" Hg. Have no idea how this relates to any stamped ID on the vacuum advance unit.- Top

Delco-Remy Test Specifications show:
For 1111926 distributor Vacuum unit should be 1115360. Sounds like we are all singing the same song.
It also shows the same vacuum unit information John has provided.

Thanks for the info, guys. Appreciate it. BTW, a company which is a Paragon of originality sells the 360 as correct, while a Corvette company Centrally located sells the 363 as correct, and the 360 for 68 only. Chuck1963 Corvette Conv. 327/360 NCRS Top Flight
