Basic (photo) Uploader doesn't work

When I click "Add Files", the "Basic Uploader" link does not appear; hence even though I can still "Browse" my computer files, I cannot upload the attachment to the post. System glich ?

Rick -- how do I submit a ticket ? I went to the "manage attachments" section (for another post) and I still get the same (ie. no Basic Uploader link). I clicked on the blue question mark, thinking this would tell me how to submit a ticket, but no luck. Any help/direction would be appreciated.

Click MEMBER SERVICES - then HELP DESK - then SUBMIT A TICKET

Make sure you are as specific as you can be, such as browser, operating system, etc. that you are using. Gary, John or Rob will get back to you pretty quick

Tested with IE10 in IE9 compatibility mode and the Basic Uploader doesn't work for me. Testing continues.

seems like we have a big IE issue regarding uploading pictures...

Personally I find Internet Explorer very unstable: please use Chrome (or Firefox) as an alternative because we can't spend all our valuable programming and trouble shooting time to keep on chasing the incompatibility issues introduced time after time by Microsoft

I'm not sure what a "wrap" means in this context (I'm not an English native speaker) but if you mean we are discouraging people to use it, than my answer is: YES

" Wrap " in the context I used means " end " I've had IE for 13 years and I have no problem posting pics on other websites. YES, you have discouraged me from posting any further pics to help other members out. Not a big deal. A picture is only worth a thousand words anyways. Nobody likes to look at pics from an IE browser. They would rather see them from CHROME or FIREFOX, since IE is so unstable. Good day Sir.

We NCRS IT guys spend an untold amount of volunteer hours each year trying to unwind the "improvements" Microsoft makes to their browser Internet Explorer.

Other browsers that adhere to the Internet (IETF) standards work just fine.

All we're asking is that members who have problems with Internet Explorer meet us half way and use another browser such as Chrome or FireFox temporarily while we're trying to resolve what problem Microsoft Internet Explorer browser is causing this time.

To the NCRS IT group: -- before we blast Internet Explorer, recall that in my original "ticket" I mentioned that I was using Ubuntu as my operating system and Firefox as my browser. So I'm not using anything Microsoft.

My Ticket info: "I upload photos almost every day. Have used this version [12.04] of Ubuntu for 18 months. Is there a capacity limit to photo storage that I may have exceeded ? Browser is Mozilla Firefox 26.0 (latest) for Ubuntu Canonical - 1.0".

Rob --- refer to my post #1; can't explain it any better than that. I'll try it again shortly and report only if it's now working, but it seems others are having a similar problem with other op.sys and browsers.

Basic Uploader problem - work around:

Try setting the Enhanced Attachment Uploading to Off per the attached instructions.

Setting to Off resolved Internet Explorer Basic Uploader problems for Rob and me.
