History for '64 coupe shipped to Hallman's in Johnstown Pa

Thanks to NCRS and the Shipping Data Report, I now know that my 1964 coupe was shipped to Hallman's Chevrolet in Johnstown, Pa on 11/15/63.
This agrees with the "C15" production date on my trim tag.

I bought the car on 6/3/1968 and have owned it ever since.
With the information I have, I am hoping someone can give me some history for the 4 years before I bought it.

    Here is what I know:
    • Car was shipped to Hallman's Chevrolet on 11/15/63 -- from Shipping data report and trim tag
    • First title to original owner was issued on 5/12/64 (6 months after delivery, so car was in Hallman's inventory for 6 months, makes me believe it was a demo car)-- from Pa title info
    • Someone changed the oil on 5/6/64, one week before first owner titled the car, with 485 miles on odometer (makes me believe it was a demo) -- from entry in original owner's manual. Since this is the only oil change entry in manual, logic tells me the Hallman's did it. If the original owner did it, I would expect him to have additional oil change entries in the owner's manual, and there aren't any.
    • There is a Delco battery warranty card in the glove compartment for Sept of 1966 for "A. E. Smith 418 Hunter." No city or state given. Two years is a short battery life even for the mid '60s.
    • I bought the car in Blairsville, Pa from "Bob & Dale Chevrolet" on 6/3/1968 with 29K on the odometer.
    • When I bought the car, it had a metal plaque glued to the dash for the 1964 Watkins Glen races.
    Now comes something very unusual.
When I bought the car, it also had a Yenko Chevrolet dealership back seat in it -- this seat is dealer option from Don Yenko's dealership in Cannonsburg, Pa (near Pittsburgh).

Attached are pictures of the original Yenko advertisement, my car, and recent pictures of my Yenko back seat.

With this information, it should make it easy for someone to recall this car.

    Additional information

Clem Zahrobsky (who is a member of NCRS) sent me the attached Corvette Club of Western Penna (CCWP) classified ad.

In a letter, he also told me that there were several of these seats in the CCWP club in the '60s.
I believe Don Yenko was a founding member of CCWP.

Clem, correct me if I am wrong on any of this.
And, a special thanks to you for this information.

      Hi Tom,

You ever try to sit back there?

My little sister and I used to ride around in the back storage area (no bench seat) of my Dad's '67 in the mid 1970s when we were kids. I think I also sat on the parking brake cover between the front seats a few times, now that I think about it.

Their was a Hallman's Chevrolet in downtown Rochester, NY back then. Didn't know there were 2 different Hallman's. -Dan-

Actually, I have...but you would have to cut your head off to fit.

The seat was known as a "kiddie seat" at the Yenko dealership.
I got that information from Donna Mae Mims before she passed away.
Donna Mae was in charge of the part of the Yenko dealership that contracted an outside source for the seat.
I still have the letters from Donna Mae about this seat.

I also was able to find the person that made the seat for the company that produced them for Yenko.
I sent him pictures and talked to him on the phone.

            Hi Tom,

If you have the time or inclination, all of that first-hand source information and documentation would make for a great Corvette Restorer article

I also want to give special thanks to John Hinckley.
He is the one that first provided me with this full-size Yenko Corvette seat advertisement:
