Gas Gauge

I just had all gauges refurbished and installed my dash. I doubled checked and believe that I reinstalled all of the wiring correctly. Everything has worked fine, but I noticed that the gas gauge jumped up when I turned on the head lights and then it returned back to original position. I checked the ground and everything seems secure. Any suggestions?

It is most likely a grounding problem with the sending unit on the gas tank. I had exactly the same problem which was fixed by adding a ground wire from the sending unit on the tank.
