Looking for this? Just copy & paste the 'Hotlink for forums' URL directly in your message body.

      Jack,

I have, for years done just as you describe but now, when I paste it, the format changes from what I copied so it shows as in my first post...and no pic.

Photobucket was were this began so I changed to Postimage and it worked well, for awhile.

What did you add to my link to make it work.

Nothing much... all that seems different in the code is your many leading & trailing BRACKETS have been converted to 'characters'.

For example... this was your code from Post #1:
        %5Burl=https://postimg.org/image/a7yn0xjxr/%5D%5Bimg%5Dhttps://s19.postimg.org/cpae873ub/IMG_2164.jpg%5B/img%5D%5B/url%5D

        Instead of the leading/opening BRACKET ' [ ' ... I see %5B
        Instead of the trailing/closing BRACKET ' ] ' ... I see %5D
(there are several sets of brackets within your code)

No idea why that is converting over for you... are you using a different/new/updated browser?
QUESTION: Did you somehow accidentally switch/reset your editor window for replies?
Check the ICONS in the top left... above the BOLD and ITALIC buttons.
Play around... check your USER PROFILE settings to see if you are using the Enhanced Interface (Message Editor Interface).

If all else fails, shoot me a phone number in a PM and I can try working with you.
That is, unless the the ADMIN have another suggestion.

        Good luck,
        Jack

Hummm... I was looking for this before, but the button was grayed out:

Try pasting the link a PLAIN TEXT... see if that helps.
NOTE: I had to hit the A/A (first button on the left) a few times to make the PLAN TEXT button available.

              Re: Hmmm

Just Wondering: After you COPY the link from the image website, try to PASTE it into a text editor first (like Notepad)... do the BRACKETS remain, or are they converted to 'characters' already? It should look like this:

              HTML Code:
              [url=https://postimg.org/image/a7yn0xjxr/][img]https://s19.postimg.org/cpae873ub/IMG_2164.jpg[/img][/url]

                Re: Hmmm

It converts it. I can't paste that image, regardless where. It's the strangest thing. I've used three different hosting sites with the same results.

What happens when you Copy & Paste the URL in the HTML Code from Post #7?
And are you saying it converts when you PASTE into Notepad too?
Did you try a different browser... have you rebooted lately?

                    Re: Hmmm

                    Couple More Options:

Have you tried to HIGHLIGHT & COPY the URL from the image website... instead of using the icon on the right?
                    Like this:

                    -----------------------------

If that is still not helping, what about trying to MANUALLY insert the image?
Depending on the browser you are using, RIGHT CLICK over the image and select either...
COPY IMAGE ADDRESS for Chrome... or
                    COPY IMAGE LOCATION for Firefox.

                    Chrome Example:

                    Firefox Example:

NOTE: The address/URL for your image is:
                    HTML Code:
                    https://s19.postimg.org/cpae873ub/IMG_2164.jpg
Next, you would need to INSERT the URL for that image:

Here is my try inserting the image via the above steps:

I sure hope something works for you... please keep us posted.

YIKES... what browser are you using... what operating system?
After a HIGHLIGHTING the URL (Pick & Drag -or- Double Click), you can COPY with a few techniques:
                          1) RIGHT CLICK and select COPY from the dropdown menu (see below):

                          2) Use keyboard commands... holding the CONTROL (Command for Mac) + the letter 'C' a the same time.
(NOTE: CONTROL + V is often used to PASTE something you've just copied.)
