    Sideways Photos - Testing Reason

This picture below came out sideways last week when I first uploaded it......
    here.....

Here it is using the Add Photo Button....

Hmmm, now it's okay. let's try via the Manage attachments button in Go Advanced mode.

It's still okay when I click on attachment.

    Let's add more photos....

Hmm, still okay. Let's reorder the images.... Still okay.

Let's add more via manage attachments button...Still okay

Add via Insert Image icon button....

Okay, load the high photo again via Manage Attachments....Still okay.

I give up, can't replicate the sideways problem.

Don, I just downloaded both pics you uploaded here and they're okay in my MS viewer. Strange.

The one that gave me trouble last week was a tall photo, but after a few tries it seemed to fix itself. Weird. I know some iPhone photos go sideways or upside down, but I'm told it's the camera settings on those phones that aren't set right.

I tried to put that pic of Hinck in the Hinckley thread a couple weeks ago, and it went in sideways.
It comes in right side up here.
        very odd.

Very strange. It'll come back and haunt us. I had a feeling that was your car next to Jay. Cool photo.

Another weird thing is happening to me too. It seems my posts are giving me trouble when I insert a "space bar" space between words. If I reply below the "QUOTED Text" below, the spaces don't work. Above the quoted text, they do, as I'm writing this. Have you seen this?

          HereIamhittingthespacebarbetweenwordsanditdoesnotw ork.weird.

Typing this....Now it works. What the heck is this doing.

EDIT......If I go into edit mode there is no space in work.

HereIamhittingthespacebarbetweenwordsanditdoesnotw ork.weird. (no space in "work" ONLY in edit mode)

It added one space when I SUBMIT the edit, then after SUBMIT the 1 space after the w in "work" shows up!!!

            No,
I can't say I have encountered that one.
I did however get the 'your message is too short' warning when I tried to load in the above photos and followed your direction to Go Advanced, and got the corrupted view but hit Save Message and the pics went in, no problem. I am not a techie so all this is greek to me.
This must be code errors within the vBulletin Vers. 4.2.1 software or something. What the heck do I know.

              Rich,
I've had similar issues with the space bar NOT working if you use "reply with quote". I found if I just used the "reply" button there was no issue. Only been this way for about a week.

Yes after reply with quote I get it but this computer runs Vista and I see it's working fine. My wife's computer runs Windows 7 and it does it on that one.

On hers, if I type some text, then bring the cursor in front of that text, the space bar works properly. When I get to the end of the post, I delete the unwanted text and submit. It's a pain but there must be a bug related to Win 7(and or later) as this Vista box works fine as I'm typing this with spaces between words.

                Strange.

That's exactly what happens to wife's Win 7 laptop.

                    This Vista is fine.

I'll drop a Help Desk ticket in and reference this thread. Thanks for chiming in Leif. I thought it was just me.

edit....ps note the quoted text above. Do you see the single space between the a and s of the "...asyoucansee". In the editor right now it's not there, but when I submit, the space is there. Your post shows a space there too. Weird bug.

There has been no change to the forum software in the last several months.

Windows 10 has been doing a lot of updating over the last few weeks and I have seen a lot of strange behavior. I don't know if a similar Windows 7 issue has been introduced. They don't update Vista any more so that might account for why it works fine.

As you can see my Windows 10 system with Google Chrome did not have any issues with spaces, above or below the quoted text.

Okay John, Thanks for checking. It's certainly interesting that at least 2 of us are having problems.
