flasher orientation on 69 factory ac car

Does anyone know which way the flasher on passenger side under dash mounts? I don't seem to have any slack in wiring harness so can't get the flasher into the mount. I also have factory ac, so the duct might be a little different.

I see most, but not all, early C3 Corvettes with C-60 have the flasher up where the sun don't shine. At least that was what we found back when we were researching the date codes on the flashers. I think the AC duct prevents the flasher wires reaching to the clamp at the lower edge of the passenger side dash panel.

I have seen lots below the duct but not in the clip. My 1972 is the same way as yours, Gary.

I can get it to barely snap into the clip if it is facing sideways. How should I address this for judging? Leave it clipped in wrong (I lost a point for this at the regional) or dont clip it in at all?
