As I start to install my new Al Knoch carpet underlayment in my 65 conv. I am noticing "wrinkles" in the rubber top coat where the padding was folded when placed in the box and shipped. I am unable to get these wrinkles out upon installation in the car. Will these wrinkles show up when I install the carpet over the underlayment or should I proceed and not worry about it?
All the rear underlayment has wrinkles, the front is somewhat better.
I tried heat from a heat gun to no avail. also tried Florida hot sun. It appears once this rubber is folded and pressed in a box it has a memory and the wrinkles in the rubber top coat of the underlayment are permanent.
Anyone else experience this problem?
Any help appreciated.
