Posi casing. Stamp it or not?

I've got an early 1959 Corvette, (September 58 build date). I've acquired an empty 3743833 posi-traction casing with an H68, (August 6th 1958), "casting date" which is what I've been looking for.


There is NO assembly code stamped on the opposite side of the casing.


Question is, would it be better, (judging wise, originality wise), to stamp an assembly code, ( Such as AN 8 11 ), on it or just leave it blank?

Some cases either were NOT STAMPED, or, the stamp was so faint that it was nearly impossible to see.
Personally, I would leave it blank because this will permit installing any gears you want. The casting date, H68 (Aug 6, 58) is good for your Sept 58 car, so you're good there. If you're planning to have it judged, and you stamp it, there MAY be a judge who can determine that the stamp is bogus and deduct points. BUT, if you leave it blank, there should not be a point penalty.

Transmission and rear axle "numbers" aren't judged - only configuration that can be seen while lying on the ground.
