    Good info Bill, I didn't know that. I can see the used link that I have is a rubbery texture, so maybe it's silicone based or similar to keep it from melting.

                UPDATE.... We're back up and running. My fusible link is temporary until I can get more appropriate looking terminals, but, its a nice solid rewire (with correct wire). Thanks to Rich for all his help! John
