    Stamp Pad Opinion Wanted.

I'd like input on this stamp pad. It is a car for sale that I'm researching. Thank you in advance for your insight.

    Jim:

It is not a pretty, "textbook perfect" factory stamp, but I would say that it is an original factory engine stamp. Both engine assembly and VIN look okay to me.

I agree. Besides, who would re-stamp a base motor with an automatic?

Jim, looks okay to me. It appears that the HO were individually stamped--which is not unusual.

Thanks Tony, didn't know the suffix was sometimes stamped individually.

The head shown appears to be a Tonawanda casting.

Cecil, Tell me more please. Is it because of the lack of machining on the front of the head?

                  Yes, it appears un-machined.
