Here is a picture of my 1968 original tire if you care to look.

FWIW: Just took my 68 Corvette out of an "omni bag". (Sleeping for 3 years) Will get it ready for a Chapter Meet. From time to time

tires are the subject for C3's. Here is a picture of an original if you care to look. Thanks; Larry

Nice. I have the original spare in my 68. Red line. Also I have two snow tires that were on the car when it was unearthed in 1990. They had been on there since 1973 or before. They are red line on one side and gold line on the other and they have provision for studs, but no studs installed.

Beautiful tire, Larry! My original RWL spare is in much less 'new' looking condition, nonetheless... Loved your snow tire story too, Rich.

My original spare tire is still in the tub of my 63 - never been on the ground. I just check it's air pressure every ten years or so. It's a U.S. Royal so you know why it has never been on the car. The other four brothers gave it up long ago, and I have had four new sets on since new, including the Goodyear Integra Radials currently on the car. They are over ten years old now too, so I'm looking for a buy on set number five.

          Larry,

Are there original wheel balance weights on your original tire/wheel? If so, what is the manufacturer's logo?

Gary: I have to look when I get a chance. IIRC they are the old type with US weights;not metric. When we balanced tires (A long time ago) I think we put all the weights on the inside. Larry
