    Who do you like...???

    How many times do we see threads begin with this...

    Who do we like for carburetor rebuild/restoration?
    Who do we like for re-chroming?
    Who do we like for repro interiors?
    And on and on and on.
    Obviously this is one of the great things about this forum is getting other's input either from personnel experience or word of mouth.
    Has anyone at NCRS ever given thought to publishing an "Angie's List" of preferred vendors? I know there are a lot of vendors advertising in our publications but they don't come with any kind of endorsement.
    Just a thought as I read the forum this AM.

      I think the door is always open for a volunteer to step forward to undertake the task of administering this, making sure it's correct and up to date at all times.

              Our Restorer Magazine shows a lot of how to do it type articles. My first choice rather than just pay to have it done. But if that is what you want the Driveline has a lot of vendor ads for one to inquire.

                  It's a nice idea and I've often wished for something like this myself. However, if it was tried as an NCRS resource (i.e. if someone could claim the list was even tangentially endorsed by the NCRS), I suspect it would very quickly descend to litigation and ultimately go the way of the NCRS Documentation Services... a very unfortunate situation to say the least.

                      I think people underestimate the amount of time and money it takes to keep a quality monitoring system up to date and accurate.

                      Just because vendor 'A' sells a perfect repro of a certain item today doesn't mean all his items are perfect, nor does it mean that the perfect item will be that way tomorrow.
