    Corvette caravan to Bloomington Gold

    There will be a group of Corvettes leaving from the St. Louis, Missouri area driving to the Bloomington Gold Corvette Show on Thursday June 26th. We meet at Cracker Barrel in Troy, Illinois 62294 and plan to leave at 10AM. Several of us will arrive around 9AM to enjoy some breakfast before the drive. All Corvettes are welcome, the more the merrier!!! There will members from the Original Corvette Club of St. Louis, the Looking Glass Corvette Club of Highland, Illinois and the NCRS St. Louis Chapter. Again ALL Corvettes are welcome!!!

      Sounds great. It reminds me of the good old days when I would caravan up to Bloomington from St. Louis with some friends. First time in 1976, Saturday morning, I-55 would be full of Corvettes doing the same. We had some CB radios hooked up and were dying at the truckers going crazy over all the "plastic" on the road. Their favorites were the "ones with the different color coves on the side". My favorite comment though, was one trucker blurting out "what the hell's goin' on, they givin' them damn things away somewhere?".

      Funny thing is, when you think of what C1's and C2's were going for back then, "they" were giving them away.

          One week till Bloomington Gold and the 1966 L79 Red coupe is ready for the trip! We hope to have a large group of Corvettes making the drive together to the show!
