I am currently doing a frame off and am now working on the Strut Rods. The original struts had a metal center and rubber inside the strut rod end. I have NOS bushings (3775762) which are supposed to be the correct replacement. These bushing have a metal center and rubber that is covered by metal. Just looking at the bushings it looks like they will be tough to press into the strut ends. Any comments or past experiences would be appreciated. Steve

The GM #3775762 are the correct bushings for the 1963-74 Corvette strut rod application. These bushings do have a steel outer shell which the original bushings, vulcanized in place, did not. If you remove the old bushings COMPLETELY and scrupulously clean the orifices, the new bushings will press in without trouble. A special driver tool is available for this operation and of reasonable cost. However, as long as you have a circular press tool which will seat on the outer shell and be slightly smaller in OD than the orifice in the strut rod end, that's all you need.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
