Can anyone confirm the amount of 1964 L76 convertibles with factory air producted? I recently purchased a Black 1964 convertible 365HP with factory air, original drivetrain, M20, 3:08 rear. Checked out by NCRS judge. Is it shown on any publications sold by NCRS?

138 CONVERTIBLES AND 243 COUPES were built in 1964. I had a silver black 64 coupe in 1978. Good friend just sold his 65 Nassau blue / blue coupe in June. I found him that car in 2005.

The family I purchased the car from bought it from the original owner (their neighbor) in October 1989 and per the PA title, the car had 43K miles. It was the Grandfathers car and it was his prized possession putting very limited mileage on the car and then storing in for many years. Per the family, the car has original paint which doesn't show any overspray and has that shiney lacquer glow, Kelsey Hayes KOs, original engine stamp with RR suffix, CJ rear (3:08), stamped M20. Black interior with black date coded hard top. Working on getting more history from the family and getting the dealer code from NCRS. Since there is only 138 365HP convertibles for 1964 is it safe to say around 12 may be black (8.5%) and I'm sure not many had the CJ option for the rear. Does that limited production CJ option increase the value at all?

Love the large pully on the compressor. Turned less revs so high RPM did not hurt

Congratulations on picking up a really nice original 64 L76 A/C roadster in a desirable color combo and a SURVIVOR! Wow. That car will clean up so nicely.
Have to admit, I'm kinda partial to L76's... at 16 the first vette I ever drove was a Glen Green with white interior 65 L76 roadster... so much fun and that car did it... it hooked me on solid lifter 4 speeds, seems I am addicted for life.

Excited about getting the 64 all cleaned up and safe to drive....... Additionally, my first Corvette was a 1971 LT-1 convertible purchased back in 1989, drove daily, late June 71 build date with tank sticker and I still have it. Just pulled it out of the garage after a long nap and going through it. So I guess I share your addiction to solid lifter 4 spd cars.

I'm glutton for punishment... my brother and I just bought another 71 LT1 - 2 owner car with 42k miles and a ream of factory docs and letters back and forth with GM overseas distribution regarding the color of the car, the strike, and delivery dates.

A tid bit, Vette had 3 sized pulleys in the muscle years and the 64/65 were the only ones to have the 6 3/8" pulley. all other C2's had 5 3/4" and C3's went to a 5 1/8 or 1/4" on BB only. That odd pulley is rare.

I have a 65 fuel car and Jim and I have been friends for years now. I saw it on craigslist the first day it appeared and called Jim immediately to see if the vin was on his list. I have actually done this twice now in the last few years. One guy did not care and the other was reunited with original car where it truly belongs. I believe this is the one that was reunited. Beautiful car, but of course I am partial.
                        John,
I'm the current owner of the black/red FI car and a longtime friend of Chuck McSheehy. RIP. I knew the Craigslist story but was unaware you were the person who noticed it there. I'd like to personally thank you for your effort.

Do you think he wants to buy it?" I gave him Chuck's info. He calls Chuck, who can't believe it. Chuck calls Luke who is close to it. Luke buys unit for Chuck, who then buys it from Luke. Chuck and Rich install it on the '65 engine that it originally was under just under the wire to get it ready for Kissimmee '14.

Lucky break, but it seems an injustice to buy back what was stolen. I'm not a lawyer, but I think if the theft could be documented (police report) then the fuelie could be recovered, regardless of time or current owner.
