69 Quadrajet choke pull off original part?

Anyone know the part number and where to find an Original Rochester choke pull-off; the white round plastic diaphragm? Apparently the attached is not correct...DonPresentation1.pptx

It depends what you want. If you want a white plastic vacuum break, you can obtain one from the source that Patrick mentions (as well as other sources). However, it won't have the Rochester Products logo.

If you want one with the Rochester Products logo, you'll have to look for a GM #7038239. It's discontinued but there should still be some around. However, the chances are great that it will be black. Some earlier examples were white but for at least the last 25 years, they've been black.

So, you say you want BOTH the white plastic and the Rochester Products logo? Well, that's a lot tougher. As mentioned above, you could look for a white 7038239 but you'll probably be looking for a long while. You could also look for a GM #7035493. That one will be identical to the original but it will be even harder to find than the aforementioned. It was discontinued in May, 1970 (i.e. 44 years ago!) and replaced by the 7038239.

I used to have an excellent parts guy at my local Chevrolet dealership. He could search the OLD part #'s, some others computers just would search the latest part # after it had changed several times! At any rate, I located all kinds of N.O.S. carburetor, distributor and off the wall parts this way. (including the choke pull off for my '73 454 Quadrajet) that particular part was shown at one little dealership in the middle of nowhere, cost me about $7.00!!! Even found a dealership that had an N.O.S. idler arm (the real deal non-greasable one!) Worth a try!

Hi Joe...any idea what this part is? Just an aftermarket replacement or a correct restoration part? http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/results...number=7038239 Don

This part is discontinued. It still shows on their web-site but if you were to order it, I don't think you'll get it.

Addendum: although discontinued, you still may be able to find one of these in dealer inventory. However, if you do, I expect you'll find it's black in color if that matters to you.

                Hi Joe,
Your info about the white and black choke pull-offs made me wonder about this one on my 71 base engine carb.
                I 'think' it's original.
Can you tell what it is?
                Thanks!
                Regards,

1971 used a different choke pull-off than 1969. It may have been of a different color than the 1969 piece which was "white". Yours looks to be mostly silver in color. I've not seen one like this before but it's possible it's original for 1971.

I have two RP choke pulloffs that were in a box that came with my car. They are both yellow. Were they originally white? The part numbers on both of them are 38842. Any ideas?

The pulloff on service replacement carbs for the 7029207 which serviced many Chevy 350 4bb apps was grey and black during the 80's and 90's. At least that is what I have seen on the nos ones I have looked at. The attached photo is one from an nos carb I have that is dated 1977 or 1987. I have another nos carb from he early 90's on the car now that also has the grey and black pulloff. Could the different colors be for production, service part and service carb ?

I don't think so. I think it's more related to the time period when the part was manufactured.

                          Joe,
Yes I can see that. I'm probably making this more complicated than it is.
