1957 Hood Original vs Repo

I would like to know if there are any points deduct for using a 1957 reproduction hood vs using the original. The original must have about 1000 stress crack that need to fix. The guy I am helping with the car is trying to decide which would be the best way to go. If there would be points deducted then we would weigh the point value vs time vs the cost of the new hood.

They deduct for the smoothness on the under side of the hood as originals are not so smooth.

Is the underhood configuration the same between the repo and the original. Some of the repos had noticible differences on the underside in the braces / etc.
