Re: 67 front rocker panel retainer
Keith,
I have a feeling they were attached with pop rivets. I've remove so many for restoration and they were held on with pop rivets. Not to say solid rivets may have been used too. Did you check the assembly manual to see what is specified?
I use pop rivets for reassembly.- Top

Re: 67 front rocker panel retainer
Keith,
The original brackets on my '66 were attached with pop rivets, and I think that is the only way they were done on all C2s. The pop rivets that LIC sells with the brackets are too long. Correct length pop rivets are easily found, but I don't remember the correct length.

Make sure you put the pop rivets in from correct side if you are flight judging. Also the brackets are right and left but not marked so install same as removed. They will mount reversed and still mount the rocker molding but look wrong. But realistically I would say judging would not even look at these brackets possibly feel for them. But now they might.- Top
