When I pulled my dipstick out the tube came with it. I think I see the hole where the tube goes, but I have the chrome cover on and would rather not have to take it off and replace if I can avoid it. What's the best way to reinsert the tube? Many thanks.

Charles,
The tube needs to be expanded enough that it is a bit larger that the hole in the block. It can be done by finding a drill bit shank that fits exactly in the tube and the peened, ( center punched). That will expand the diameter of the tube, then you will need to clean the tube and hole in the block oil free. You can use a solvent to do this with something like a gun cleaner, cotton on a stick, anything that will get it clean and oil free. I put the sealer on the tube and gently tap it in the hole and let the sealer cure. Silicone or locktite. Whatever your choice is will work.
