How many of you save the driveline??

Do you save them, trash them, give them away or what? After Tim offered what he had to anyone it made me wonder what others do with there copies.

I have most if not all of mine, and also most of a friend's collection. I have yet to find which ones he has that I don't so I can consolidate.

I have many boxes full back to when I joined - I even moved them a few years ago. Does that make me a candidate for hoarders? Don H.

I save them for about 5 years. Then, for each one I add, I discard the oldest. In the case of the Driveline, I really don't see what value back copies have. I suppose they might have some "historical information" value but they really have no reference value because everything in them is dated.

I have them from day one! Matter of fact, I have two sets of the early ones! All of them are in the white plastic covers.

A few years ago I dumped at least 100 of them into the recycle bin. Now I only keep the most recent issue. I can't think of a single reason to keep them. I have all the Restorers but they have useful information.

                  Hi,
I have a complete set. The early issues seem to show how the 'tension' over buying and selling cars has grown as the prices have grown.
I've thought that someday when I REALLY don't have anything to do I'd create a data base of all the cars that have been listed for sale which might help someone track down their car's history.
The dark side of me wonders if the data might show how some cars have 'changed' over the the years.
                  Regards,
                  Alan

I only keep most recent issue of the Driveline; dump the former. I keep all issues of Restorer magazine.

I save them too, not sure why.

Alan...I believe there are one or two members that have done exactly what you want to do...however, to respect their privacy, I won't name them...I know they are regular visitors to the TDB...and I believe there have been a few cars over the years that have changed...I don't think it happens too often as of late...but back in the early years...well...

Used to save them, but moving in the military we got charged if we went over our weight allowance. Canned the Drivelines and donated the National Geographic. Now I just keep the current issue.

I don't save them; I read them, study them as I need, then pass them on to a friend or give them to someone I feel might join the ncrs as result. I believe if you have gained all the info needed from them why save/hoard them; they take up space and if I need additional info I go to the thread.

                              Michael,

While my hoarder instinct is still strong in some areas, I pitch them after I read them. I do keep the Restorers, but am hoping for an online version!
