I have recently purchased a 1966 Milano Maroon convertible. It has what appears to be original paint. It is chipped in places and I'm looking for advice on how to repair the chips so it looks as close to factory as possible. I guess the alternative is to get the entire car repainted. Not sure if that would be the right choice if the paint is original but would like to hear others' opinions on this as well.

Re: Fixing original paint on a '66
If it's just "touch up" you need to do using a small brush, a good paint shop should be able to match the color. I have a Milano Maroon 66 NOT original paint. My buddy has an aircraft painting business.and he matched it perfectly.1966 L79 Convertible. Milano Maroon

Re: Fixing original paint on a '66
Thanks Tony. Any suggestions on tags I should search on? As well as the usual road rash around the headlights and behind the rear wheels there are some larger chips on the rear edge of the doors and right fender where it looks like something may have fallen against the car when it was in a garage. I'm new to the forum although I have been an NCRS member for many years.- Top
