Are you sure of that part number? It would have been of a series assigned to AC Spark Plug Division so that seems correct. However, I can't find any part of that part number ever released. In fact, I can find very few ever released in the 638xxxx range. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Since I believe the part number is an AC Division part number, the number could be for a non-Chevrolet application and, thus, would not appear in any Chevrolet P&A catalog. However, as I mentioned, I checked the whole of the GM parts system and could not find it (or, really, any 638xxxx part numbers). It is possible it's a truly ancient part number (like pre-1950), though. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

OK, that must be it----a GM of Canada exclusive series of part numbers. These may not be a series assigned to AC Division or they may be a series assigned to AC but used only for GM Canada. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

One more thing: are the group numbers shown for the 638xxxx parts in the GM Canada catalog? If so, is there any sort of "commonality" to the group numbers? Generally, I believe part numbers that are GM Canada exclusive are parts which are unique to GM cars sold in Canada. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

W-cars had an open top aircleaner with quite a large diameter to fit the Open Air induction equipment. Part numbers ran in the series 6485XXX and 6487XXX. Applied to both Standard and OIR aircleaners.Bill Clupper #618- Top

You mean the guy that has deep pockets and short arms!!!! Doesn't he use a 70's era Olds as his daily driver? Same guy that if he was wearing an arm full of watches, you could never get the time from him!!!!- Top

This brick is massive. 234 part #'s/page x 1393 pages = 326,196 part numbers. It has all the regular #s we find in our P&A30's, and probably everything else in the GM divisions system. I use it to check if part so-and-so was still valid in 1980. The dollars are Canadian, but close enough, depending on exchange rates back then.Attached Files- Top

"WC" is generally "Wholesale Comp" if the part is sold to a party that qualifies for a discounted price.Bill Clupper #618- Top
