Re: Delco replacement springs for 63
Hello Ed,
I used those coil springs: http://www.parts123.com/parts123/yb....5Z50000050B~~~
However, I think they have one coil too much, so not right for judging. Besides that, the car rides great with them.
Found out that my car had one original spring on one side and on the other there was one with 11 coils!

Thanks for the quick answer Ruedi. Do you Have a pic you can post , maybe a side view of your car would like to see how your sits. I think the judges would be hard pressed to count the coils (8) while the car is on the ground. If it were 11 or 12 coils yes they would see this.Last edited by Edward J.; May 25, 2014, 10:41 AM.New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.- Top

Don't get the idea that these springs are OEM. They are not; they are aftermarket. That does not mean they are bad, though. They might work just fine.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: Delco replacement springs for 63
Joe, Just trying to get a idea how the car sits and rides, most of the venders sell the repro springs for about 3 times the cost of a Delco spring. I know that Delco is no more, as they just use the name and re box. Corvette America sells the Delco spring for about 70 bucks.New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.- Top

Re: Delco replacement springs for 63
Hello Bob
Thank you for the compliment. I have Maxxis radial tyres 205/70 R15 on the car. Height from ground to the fender lip is 26.18 inches.
I did buy the front coil springs from Corvette Central: http://www.parts123.com/parts123/yb....Z5Z50000050~~~

Re: Delco replacement springs for 63
Ruedi, Thanks for the pic of your car. love the car. always loved silver on 63. Do you recall when you got the springs from corvette central were they Delco springs? Corvette Central does not say anything about the spring and most of the venders do list the Delco spring and it's only about $65.00 verses $184.00 corvette central.New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.- Top

Re: Delco replacement springs for 63
Hello Ed,
Thanks for the kind word. Your car is really nice, too.
If you go to the Corvette Central webpage, they show multiple coils for 1963 Corvette. price range from $79.95 up to $184.
When I got the springs, if I remember correctly, they were packed in blank cardboard. I can't remember a manufacturer. So I can't say for sure if they are Delco or something else. Important for me was that they are manufactured in the US, don't want the China products.

Re: Delco replacement springs for 63
Bob, I don't know what kind of rear springs were installed. I had only to change the front springs.
Photo was taken by a photographer who is planning to make a Corvette calendar.
